Market Pullback Hits Top Assets
Digital asset markets experienced a sharp pullback over the past 24 hours, with total cryptocurrency market capitalization contracting by 4.51% to approximately $2.59 trillion. Daily trading volume across the sector reached $104.1 billion as selling pressure intensified across major tokens.
Bitcoin (BTC) fell 1.65% to trade around $75,472, moving between an intraday high of $77,163 and a low of $75,038. Despite the price decline, Bitcoin's market dominance stood firm at 58.51% as alternative digital assets saw deeper drawdowns. Ethereum (ETH) fell 3.29% to $2,385.05, Solana (SOL) lost 3.72% to trade at $96.50, and XRP recorded one of the steepest drops among large-cap tokens, falling 7.69% to $1.28.
Zcash Gains Ground Against the Trend
In contrast to the widespread weakness across major smart contract platforms, Zcash (ZEC) stood out as a primary gainer among top-tier assets. ZEC climbed 3.77% over the 24-hour period, reaching $1,173.05 after tapping an intraday high of $1,196.11.
The privacy coin generated $1.19 billion in trading volume over the last day, supporting a market capitalization of $19.87 billion and placing it 10th in global market cap rankings. Session dynamics highlighted several key developments:
- Divergent Price Action: Zcash recorded a 3.80% gain in market value while most alternative assets inside the top 10 logged losses.
- Robust Trading Volume: Activity around ZEC surged to $1.19 billion, reflecting localized accumulation despite broader risk aversion.
- Widespread Altcoin Pressure: Deeper pullbacks were visible across mid-cap tokens, with Stellar (XLM) down 8.57% and Shiba Inu (SHIB) down 5.80%.
Defensive Liquidity Positioning
As volatility pressed valuations lower across high-beta assets, liquidity shifted visibly toward fiat-pegged tokens. Tether (USDT) and USDC led all digital assets in daily trading volume, recording $67.77 billion and $20.05 billion, respectively. This capital distribution indicates traders are taking a defensive stance while monitoring key support levels across top coins.
Whether Zcash can maintain its decoupled upward momentum above $1,170 will depend on sustained spot buying volume and overall stability across primary crypto benchmarks.
