Major altcoins experienced sharper declines than the market leader during the session. Ethereum (ETH) fell 3.17% to $2,398.94, bringing ETH market dominance to 11.25%. XRP posted a notable drop among high-cap assets, sliding 7.94% to $1.29 on daily volume of $5.92 billion, while Stellar (XLM) led major losses with an 8.52% contraction to $0.175866.

Bucking the market-wide pullback, select assets registered strong gains across the 24-hour trading period:

  • Zcash (ZEC): Advanced 3.42% to $1,182.39, bringing its market capitalization to $20.02 billion on $1.20 billion in daily trading volume.
  • Rain (RAIN): Rose 4.18% to trade at $0.0139481, supported by $25.34 million in volume.
  • Tether Gold (XAUT): Edged up 1.08% to $4,333.16 as gold-pegged tokens attracted defensive market flows.

Stablecoin Volumes Point to Capital Preservation

Total 24-hour trading volume across active cryptocurrencies hit $105.15 billion, with dollar-pegged stablecoins driving a substantial portion of overall liquidity. Tether (USDT) generated $68.20 billion in daily turnover, while USDC recorded $20.28 billion. The heavy concentration of activity in stablecoins underscores an ongoing flight to liquid reserves as market participants re-evaluate exposure amid broader volatility.
